Basic Skills

From September 2003 until the end of March 2004 Chris Donkin of DonkinITEX provided support to the Lincolnshire and Rutland Learning Partnership and helped them to deliver 22 local action research projects that sought to increase basic skills activity. The contract was to provide a consultancy service that focused on developing various initiatives thematic with the overall project goal of increasing participation, supporting the implementation process and advising on the format and content of the evaluation. The work has now been completed and the participation rates significantly exceeded target.

In January 2004 Chris Donkin of DonkinITEX was appointed as a Skills for Life Quality Initiative Facilitator. He has been contracted by CfBT to provide support to a number of providers as they strive to improve basic skills provision. Throughout February and March DonkinITEX worked with various work-based training providers in the Cambridge area to improve both provision and quality assurance arrangements for Skills for Life courses.
